Did you pick up your copy of the
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" this weekend? 'Cause that was (probably) it for The Boy Who Lived. Mischief managed.
July 31st marks the shared birthday of
J.K. Rowling and her most famous creation, Harry Potter, and that was also the day the "Cursed Child" stage play was released in book form.
Rowling was at London's Palace Theatre for the launch of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" Parts 1 and II, and she
told the press that Harry Potter "goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we're done." Just done with Papa Potter's story, it seems. As Rowling added, "This is the next generation, you know. So, I'm thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now."
Harry is done now.

Maybe she just wanted to end him on a high note instead of risking overkill. Rowling didn't even write the script for "Cursed Child," but she was involved in the story and she has accepted it into the canon as the eighth Harry Potter story. Some fans thought HP was done after "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," so there may be some skepticism that she's
really done with him now. But she has her other novels, plus "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," which is set in the universe of Harry Potter but does not feature him.
Are you glad to hear Harry's story is "done"? Do you not believe it?
