It's perfect. It fits so well, you'd think "Hunger Games" writer Suzanne Collins and "Game of Thrones" series author George R.R. Martin planned for this mashup the entire time. In the 1-minute, 22-second trailer, the synopsis teases, "Katniss Everdeen faces off against President Snow...Jon Snow." We hear Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss whisper, "Nothing good is safe while Snow's alive" while Kit Harington's HBO Snow is shown in his icy terrain. The battle and speech shots really do seem to belong together, and it was a brilliant touch to include Gwendoline Christie, who stars in both "Game of Thrones" and "The Hunger Games."
Here it is:
Genius. Where is this movie in real life? We need it. The only flaw is that it maligns poor Jon Snow, who doesn't deserve all the attacks he's already getting on his own show. If only Ygritte were still alive to stand up for Jon -- but Katniss killed her in bow vs. bow combat. Damn you, Everdeen, have you no heart?!
