'Shiloh' Actor Blake Heron Has Died at Age 35

'A Thousand Junkies' Premiere - 2017 Tribeca Film FestivalTV and film actor Blake Heron was found dead today at his home in the Los Angeles area. He was 35.

Heron has 36 credits on his IMDb resume, starting with TV roles on "Picket Fences," "Reality Check," and "Cybill," before landing a role in the 1995 Disney film "Tom and Huck." He may be best known for having the lead role in the 1996 family film "Shiloh," playing Marty Preston, the young boy who saves a dog he names Shiloh.

Heron went on to appear in the TV movie "Journey of the Heart," had recurring roles on the series "Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher" and "Good vs. Evil," and had guest roles on several shows, including "ER," "The Practice," "Justified," "NCIS: New Orleans," and "Criminal Minds." He co-starred in the movies "We Were Soldiers," "Dandelion," and "11:14." He has several 2017 titles on his resume, including the movie "Dirt," which he completed but has yet to be released.

Heron recently appeared in "A Thousand Junkies," and the photo at top shows him attending the premiere at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival April.

Heron was also apparently friends with Marvel hero Chris Evans, hanging out with him at clubs and also bonding with Evans' dog Dodger:

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed Heron's death to Variety. He was found dead by a friend who told authorities that he had been sick with the flu for the last few days, Variety reports. According to TMZ, his girlfriend was the one who found him; he had reportedly just gotten out of rehab for heroin addiction a few days ago. TMZ was told the responding EMTs did not find any illegal drugs; they did find several prescriptions, but they were for the flu.

According to Variety, funeral services are pending.
