Clint Eastwood's next "based on a true story" movie will be about the three men who heroically thwarted a terrorist attack on a train bound for Paris in 2015, Deadline reports.
The movie, "The 15:17 To Paris," will be based on the book of the same name penned by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, and Spencer Stone, who averted a mass tragedy by overpowering a man armed with an AK-47 on a train from Brussels to Paris.
Stone was an airman first class in the U.S. Air Force, Skarlatos was a member of the Oregon National Guard, and Sadler a college student on his first trip to Europe. They -- along with two other passengers -- tackled the gunman after his rifle jammed.
Stone was stabbed several times in the battle with the terrorist. All three men were named Knights of the Legion of Honour of France. In the U.S., Sadler was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Valor, Skarlatos received the Soldier's Medal (the highest award for actions not taken in combat) and Stone was awarded the Airman's Medal and the Purple Heart.
We're guessing that Eastwood's movie will not include Skarlatos's subsequent stint on "Dancing With the Stars," where he finished third. But it might include the life-threatening attack on Stone in October 2015, when he was stabbed by a fellow passenger on a flight.
In the photo above, Eastwood had just presented the three heroes (from left to right, Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos) with a hero award at Spike TV's 10th Annual Guys Choice Awards on June 4, 2016.
