Benedict Cumberbatch is expanding his family: The "Doctor Strange" star is expecting his second child with his wife, Sophie Hunter.
E! News was the first to report that Cumberbatch and Hunter had baby number two on the way, with a rep for the actor confirming the news to the site.
"Everyone is absolutely thrilled," Cumberbatch's rep told E!.
The actor and his theater director wife
welcomed their first child, a son named Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, last summer. The pair got engaged in late 2014 (Cumberbatch famously took out a newspaper ad to announce their engagement), and revealed that Hunter was expecting in early 2015. The couple later wed in a Valentine's Day ceremony in England, and Christopher was born in June 2015.
In an
interview with "The Graham Norton Show" last year, Cumberbatch discussed fatherhood, calling the experience "everything" and telling the host that he couldn't wait to come home to his wife and son after a long day of work. He also hinted that he and Hunter would love to expand their brood one day.
"I might go for a Cumber-batch of boys!" the actor joked.
Looks like he and Hunter are well on their way. Congrats to the growing family!
