New on DVD and Blu-ray

"Now You See Me 2"

You don't have to say "abracadabra" to bring this magic home, just pick up the sequel to "Now You See Me" when it arrives on DVD and Blu-ray September 6. Watch the Four Horsemen return to pull off their most impossible heist yet as they try to clear their names. The film -- starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou, Sanaa Lathan, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman -- comes with audio commentary from director John Chu and the featurette "You Can't Look Away." The Blu-ray also has the featurette "Bringing Magic to Life."

"Love & Friendship"
Kate Beckinsale is Lady Susan Vernon in this witty take on Jane Austen's novella "Lady Susan," about a woman determined to find a suitor for her daughter (and herself, of course). The film, directed by Whit Stillman (who directed Beckinsale and co-star Chloe Sevigny in "The Last Days of Disco" back in 1998), arrives on DVD and Blu-ray September 6. The discus come with the featurette "Behind-the-Scenes: Love and Friendship."

"Hard Target 2"
MMA expert Scott Adkins stars as a disgraced martial arts champion fighting for his life in this sequel to the 1993 action film. Catch it on DVD, Blu-ray, Digital HD, and even Netflix on September 6. The international cast includes Robert Knepper, Rhona Mitra, Ann Truong, Temuera Morrison, Adam Saunders, Jamie Timony, Jeeja Vismitananda, and Sahajak Boonthanakit. The release includes director's commentary and more than 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes bonus features.

"Supernatural" Season 11
Take Sam and Dean home with you when "Supernatural: The Complete Eleventh Season" arrives on Blu-ray and DVD September 6. The CW's longest-running scripted series returns with Season 12 on October 13. In the meantime, you have a little over a month to watch the 23 episodes of the 2015-2016 season.

"Nina"
Zoe Saldana plays iconic musician Nina Simone in this biopic available on DVD and Blu-ray September 6. David Oyelowo, Mike Epps, Keith David, and Ella Joyce co-star in this look at the music, politics, depression, isolation, alcohol abuse, and enduring legacy of the 15-time Grammy nominee.

"Equals"
Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart are star-crossed lovers in this dystopian drama set in a world where feelings are considered a disease. The film arrives on Blu-ray and DVD September 6, including audio commentary with director Drake Doremus, cinematographer John Guleserian, and editor Jonathan Alberts; plus the featurettes "Switched On," "The Collective," and "Utopia."

New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital

"X-Men: Apocalypse"

It's the end of the world as the X-Men know it, and they do not feel fine. The blockbuster sequel arrives on Digital HD Friday, September 9, well before the DVD and Blu-ray release on October 4. Blu-ray bonus features include deleted and extended scenes with optional introductions by director Bryan Singer; a gag reel; the wrap party video; audio commentary from Singer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg; a behind-the-scenes documentary; and a photo gallery.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows"
The heroes in a half-shell (turtle power!) are ready for digital download on September 6, before the blockbuster's release on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand September 20. The Blu-ray includes more than 40 minutes of bonus content, and the Blu-ray Combo Pack also comes in a collectible metal lunchbox that includes the Blu-ray Combo Pack of 2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," Digital HD copies of both movies, and two reversible masks.

"A Bigger Splash"
A rock star (Tilda Swinton) vacationing with her lover (Matthias Schoenaerts) on a beautiful Italian island gets swept up in jealousy, passion, and danger when a record producer and old flame (Ralph Fiennes) unexpectedly shows up with his daughter (Dakota Johnson). The film has a 90 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and you can catch it on Blu-ray, DVD, and Movies on Demand (MOD) on cable September 6.

"Neighbors 2"
Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron return for more bad neighbor shenanigans in this comedy sequel that adds to the mix an out-of-control sorority led by Chloe Grace Mortez. The Digital HD release is September 6, not too long before the DVD, Blu-ray, and On Demand release September 20. DVD and Blu-ray bonus features include deleted scenes, a gag reel, feature commentary, and several featurettes.

New on Netflix

"Galavant" Seasons 12

Oh, "Galavant," we super believed in you! It's a shame ABC didn't sign on for a Season 3, but now you can stream both seasons of this witty, irreverent, worthy heir to Monty Python when they arrive on Netflix September 7. Joshua Sasse is brilliant (and handsome) as Sir Gary Galavant, with worthy backup from Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Queen Madalena, Karen David as Princess Isabella, and Luke Youngblood as Sid. *But* the real star of the series is Timothy Omundson as King Richard. Watch for the dragon king -- and the many comedy guest stars.

"Extremis" (Netflix Original)
This Netflix original documentary, directed by Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Dan Krauss, follows "the wrenching emotions that accompany end-of-life decisions as doctors, patients, and families in a hospital ICU face harrowing choices." The verité doc was made with extraordinary access to the intensive care unit of Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, and you can witness the powerful results starting September 10.

"The Finest Hours"
Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, and Eric Bana star in this historical thriller following the true 1952 U.S. Coast Guard rescue of the SS Pendleton during a nor'easter off the New England coast. The film was released in theaters this past January and it's available on Netflix September 6.

TV Worth Watching

"Masters of Sex" Season 4 (Sunday on Showtime at 10 p.m.)

It takes a long time to truly master sex, so get ready for another round when Season 4 premieres September 11. Follow human sexuality pioneers Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) as their Season 4 story starts in 1968 and continues into the 1970s. Episode 1, called "Freefall," picks up in the wake of Masters and Johnson's fallout. They will "search for purpose in a world without one another and look to work as their personal lives crash down around them." In addition, "Libby finds herself alone for the first time since her marriage and discovers some unexpected allies."

"Better Things" Season 1 (Thursday on FX at 10 p.m.)
This new comedy series, created by Louis C.K. and Pamela Adlon, stars Adlon in a semi-autobiographical role as a divorced actress who raises her three daughters on her own. The 10-episode first season premieres September 8 in a pilot directed by Louis C.K.

"Bachelor in Paradise" Season 3 (Monday & Tuesday on ABC at 8 p.m.)
Monday is Labor Day, but there's no rest for the wicked (crazy) "Bachelor" beach bums. The two-night Season 3 finale starts Monday from 8 to 10 p.m., and concludes with multiple proposals from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, followed by what will surely be some "what were you thinking?" analysis on "Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise" Tuesday from 9 to 10 p.m. At the very least, we know Nick and Jen break up, since Nick was just revealed as the new Bachelor. But we're expecting a lot more to go down, including these spoilers.
