Seth Rogen's R-Rated 'Sausage Party' Trailer Is Meaty Horror Show

Sausage PartyA R-rated Pixar movie is never going to happen, but Seth Rogen is giving it his own try with "Sausage Party."

Rogen and creative partner Evan Goldberg have released the first NSFW trailer for their R-rated animated horror-comedy. The movie follows grocery store food items — hot dogs, buns, potatoes, baby carrots, etc. — after they're purchased. Only then do they realize that being chosen is not the great honor they believed. To their horror, they get peeled, boiled, sliced, and — gasp! — eaten. The movie contains a lot of bad language ("Once you see that s---, it'll f--- you up for life," one food item moans) and food-related violence ("They're eating children!" a hot dog screams after a human consumes two baby carrots). And of course, there are the requisite hot dog and bun jokes (consider their analogs). It's an amusing premise, but can it hold up for a feature-length film?

"Sausage Party" opens in theaters August 12.
