Grab your popcorn, 'cause Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise is apparently crossing over into superhero films. First
Paul Bettany and Jason Statham got into their "Avengers" feud and now
Sebastian Stan is defending the Marvel Cinematic Universe from DC director
Zack Snyder's smacktalk. It's only a matter of time before Henry Cavill snatches Robert Downey Jr.'s weave. Just wait for it.
The latest
catbatfight started when Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming
"Batman v. Superman," talked to
The Daily Beast and threw shade at Marvel's "Ant-Man." Here's that section of interview. Pay attention to the
Christopher Nolan reference, as it will be important later:
"It's a tricky process, setting up the DC universe, or Justice League," Snyder said. "The credit goes to [Batman Begins director] Chris Nolan because he set the die for the DC Universe in a great way that I tried to emulate. I look at it as more being mythological than, say, bubblegum. And I think that that's appropriate for Batman and Superman because they're the most mythological of our superheroes."
Steven Spielberg's recent doomsday prediction that "there will be a time when the superhero movie goes the way of the Western" got many a fanboy's spandex in a bunch. Ahead of our chat, in an interview earlier in the day, Snyder responded to Spielberg's comments-and when I brought it up, he was flabbergasted that the Internet had already jumped all over the brewing debate. "That was this morning!" he exclaimed, before jovially admitting that Spielberg might be right while throwing some playful shade at the competition.
"It goes to the mythological nature of the movies that we're making," he said. "I feel like he's right. But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they're Batman and Superman. They're not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man-not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?"

Shots fired! Bullets were returned from an unlikely source: Sebastian Stan, aka Bucky Barnes in Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the upcoming
"Civil War." Stan had a nice long interview with
Collider and decided, on his own, to defend Marvel against Zack Snyder. Here's that portion of Collider's interview:
Collider: I think the reason why the Marvel movies are so good - especially Winter Soldier - is that Winter Soldier's a '70s political thriller that happens to star Captain America. And what I'm curious about is what kind of take is Civil War in terms of ... because it's obviously going to be a reboot and reinvention. Do you know what I mean?
Stan: Yeah, I'm sitting here and I'm listening to you and I'm thinking, "Do I want to fire some shots at DC right now, at Zack Snyder?" I read some of those comments where he said something about Batman and Superman, I can't remember where I read that, somewhere... Something about, "It's not going to be your flavor-of-the-week Ant-Man." And I was like, "Oh thanks, Zack. That's great. Way to do something original." But I would say we're still making something very original in our own way. I mean, the Russos are coming in and taking something people are used to and they're shaping it up and changing it in a very different way. They're not trying to mimic a better Christopher Nolan movie or something like that."
Oh yes he did. Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Christopher Nolan is probably too busy with
his next movie to bother stepping into this mess, but hopefully the bickering continues until the next Marvel and DC movies come out.
