T.J. Miller, the former "Silicon Valley" actor and "Emoji Movie" star, has been arrested for allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat to police.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller, 36, was taken into custody Monday night at New York's LaGuardia Airport.
The United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut sad in a release that on March 18, Miller "intentionally convey[ed] to law enforcement false information about an explosive device on a train traveling to Connecticut."
Miller appeared in court Tuesday and was released on bond. If convicted of the charge, he could face up to five years in prison.
In the release, authorities said Miller allegedly called 911 and said he was on an Amtrak train traveling from Washington, D.C. to Penn Station in New York City and that a female passenger had a bomb in her bag.
That train was stopped in Westport, Connecticut and evacuated of all passengers. Bomb squad members searched the train, but "no evidence of any explosive device or materials was detected."
It was later discovered Miller was on a different train. The attendant on his train told authorities that the actor "appeared intoxicated upon boarding in Washington, that he consumed multiple drinks on the train, and that he had been removed in New York owing to his intoxication." The attendant also said that Miller was involved in hostile exchanges with a female passenger in their first class car.
Miller left "Silicon Valley" after four seasons due to creative differences between the actor and the producers. "It just wasn't working," co-creator Mike Judge told THR. Miller can be seen in "Ready Player One" and the upcoming "Deadpool 2."
