'Avengers: Infinity War' Directors Plead With Fans Not to Spoil Movie's 'True Plot'

Marvel never likes for its movies to be spoiled (remember when we were all afraid for Mark Ruffalo after he accidentally live-streamed part of the "Thor: Ragnarok" premiere?). But they're being even more tight-lipped about "Avengers: Infinity War," with directors Anthony and Joe Russo issuing a plea to fans not to give out spoilers.

In a letter posted on Twitter, the Russo brothers said that there would be no advance screenings, even for press, until the Los Angeles premiere on April 23. They noted that the cast and crew have been working for "the past two years maintaining the highest level of secrecy."

And they added, "Only a handful of people know the film's true plot."

Hmm, that seems to indicate the trailers are holding back quite a lot of details (shocker). Of course, this should kick off a ton of speculation about what that true plot is. Will there be many deaths of original characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow? Or will the film set up some new Avengers and set the MCU down a different path?

Here's the letter as posted and in text form:

To the greatest fans in the world,

We're about to embark on the Avengers: Infinity War press tour. We will be visiting fans all over the world screening only a limited amount of selected footage from the film in order to avoid spoiling the story for future viewers.

We will not screen the film in its entirety until the Los Angeles premiere shortly before the film's global release. Everyone involved with the film has worked incredibly hard for the past two years maintaining the highest level of secrecy. Only a handful of people know the film's true plot.

We're asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain the same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time. Don't spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn't want it spoiled for you.

Good luck and happy viewing.

The Russo Brothers
