YouTube star Logan Paul has taken down and apologized for a controversial video he uploaded depicting what appeared to be the dead body of a suicide victim in Japan's Aokigahara forest.
Over the weekend, Paul posted a clip showing himself and friends in the infamous forest, where many suicides take place. They come across an apparent body hanging from a tree (the face was blurred in the video). "This is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I've ever posted to this channel," Paul says.
The description of the video included information for the American Society for Suicide Prevention, and Paul said he was not monetizing the video.
However, reaction was swift and severe against the vlogger. "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner called him an idiot, while "Breaking Bad" alum Aaron Paul said he was "pure trash." Paul finally took down the video and posted this apology:
