Anderson Cooper Admits to Walking out of 'The Last Jedi' for a Funny Reason

CNN Heroes 2017 - Red Carpet ArrivalsSometimes stars are just like us, and other times they're really not. Take Anderson Cooper, for example: The CNN anchor was watching "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" in theaters when he decided -- 45 minutes in, mind you -- that he was too busy to focus on it.

The actor admitted it to Stephen Colbert during a "Late Show" appearance Tuesday night when the host asked him if he'd seen the box office giant.

"I got a lot going on," Cooper said. "I had a lot of work to do."

He clarified that it wasn't a protest or a statement on anything. In fact, he plans to see the film again when he doesn't have "too much in [his] head" and can enjoy it. Still, like many of us, Colbert was shocked that Cooper had paid money to see a movie, only to decide midway through that he needed to step away. The late-night host jokingly likened it to making love to someone and deciding to take a break to get focused.

Cooper let Colbert have his fun for a bit, but then he deftly moved away from the subject, bringing up a movie he did watch in full, "I, Tonya." Well played, Cooper.
