The comedy group members — Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske — reprise their roles from the 2001 cult comedy and it's clear not much has changed. The teaser opens with a ball-shaving joke and ends with the troopers being as clueless as ever.
The sequel is a long time coming. The Broken Lizard guys have been talking about since 2006, but things didn't really get going until 2015 when they decided to crowdfund part of the project. They raised over $4 million and filming wrapped earlier this summer.
Brian Cox returns as Captain John O'Hagen, Jim Gaffigan makes another appearance, and Emmanuelle Chriqui, Tyler Labine, Lynda Carter, and Rob Lowe join the cast for the sequel.
"Super Troopers 2" opens in theaters April 20, 2018 (and yes, that's 4/20).
