The 'Baywatch' Movie Gets New Release Date ~ amazing movies

Change your beach plans: The "Baywatch" movie has a new opening day.

Paramount Pictures has pushed the upcoming movie adaptation of the "Baywatch" TV series back a week, giving it an opening weekend with less stiff competition. Instead of facing off against a host of sequels -- "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul," "Alien: Covenant," "The Nut Job 2," and "Annabelle 2" -- the action comedy will battle just one (at the time of publishing): the latest in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, "Dead Men Tell No Tales."

The new "Baywatch" opening will fall on Memorial Day weekend, giving moviegoers the chance to kick off summer with the latest group of lifeguards. Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Deddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra, Jon Bass, and Ilfenesh Hadera are all among the film's cast, and they will be responsible for carrying the baton of slow-motion running, dealing with complicated relationships, and saving the day.

"Baywatch" opens in theaters on May 26.
