New 'Power Rangers' Photos Reveal the High School Students Behind the Heroes

A new set of photos from the upcoming "Power Rangers" reboot gives a glimpse into life for the titular heroes outside of fighting aliens like Rita and trying to save the world. Sometimes, it's harder trying to survive high school.

It looks like the flick will spend a good chunk of time focusing on the Rangers as they navigate the halls of Angel Grove High School, and how they transform from ordinary teenagers into butt-kicking heroes. Thanks to a viral marketing site for the flick, which is posing as the online version of the school's student newspaper, The Roar, we have a bunch of new insights into the people behind the Rangers' masks.

Based on the stories on the site, each Ranger already has a distinct personality: Billy (the Blue Ranger, played by R.J. Cyler) is the school brainiac, who's gotten himself a lot of detention lately; Kimberly (the Pink Ranger, played by Naomi Scott) used to be a popular cheerleader, though she's recently given up her pom-poms; Jason (the Red Ranger, played by Dacre Montgomery) was the star of the football team before a prank got him suspended for the season; Trini (the Yellow Ranger, played by Becky G.) is a loner who's been mistaken for a new student, despite having attended AGHS for over a year; and Zack (the Black Ranger, played by Ludi Lin) is a bit of an enigma, but considered one of the school's hottest guys.

The Roar also documents some mysterious happenings that recently closed the cafeteria, pointing out that Kimberly, Jason, and Billy were all there when things went down. We're guessing that that incident had something to do with the Rangers' newly-discovered powers (and the odd, alien-generated suits that grow around them); the rest of their classmates probably just think they're freaks.

"Power Rangers" hits theaters on March 24, 2017. Expect more updates from The Roar until then.
