Jennifer Lawrence's Raven/Mystique has a big role in the new "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer, just in time for her to get choked by the new mutant/god villain.
"You're not students anymore. You're X-Men," she tells the pupils of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. She also drops the line "Let's go to war," suiting up in an armor Katniss Everdeen would appreciate. The trailer also shows Sophie Turner's young Jean Grey shouting in pain/power, and gives us some nostalgia feels by having James McAvoy's young Professor X tell Michael Fassbender's Magneto, "I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul that comes to my school looking for trouble."
Better pity Apocalypse, if he has a soul.
The new trailer for this sequel to "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was issued on St. Patrick's Day, and it hits theaters Memorial Day weekend. Check it out:
Here's the official synopsis from 20th Century Fox:
"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction."
