Joseph Gordon-Levitt Dressed as Yoda for the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Premiere

Premiere Of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - Red CarpetIt's no secret that many Hollywood stars are obsessed with "Star Wars," and that was apparent Monday night when dozens of celebs showed up for the world premiere of "The Force Awakens" in Los Angeles. But while most opted for their red carpet finest, Joseph Gordon-Levitt decided to take a different approach, dressing as a classic character from the series in a hilarious DIY costume.

Gordon-Levitt showed up at the event as Yoda, the wise, pint-size Jedi master who first encounters Luke Skywalker back in Episode V, "The Empire Strikes Back." Though we don't know yet whether or not he'll appear in "The Force Awakens," Gordon-Levitt decided to invite Yoda to the proceedings anyway, painting his face and neck bright green, donning a Jedi robe (which looked suspiciously like a bathrobe), and wearing green pajama pants printed with Dr. Seuss's Grinch. Maybe he got confused and thought it was a "Star Wars"-themed sleepover?

Whatever the reason for the actor's sartorial choices, we're loving his ensemble. Gordon-Levitt is a big "Star Wars" fan (he told Cinema Blend earlier this fall that he had begged "Episode VIII" director Rian Johnson to cast him in the flick), and that's certainly apparent from his gloriously geeked-out look last night. Check out a few more shots from his fun red carpet walk below.
