'Fifty Shades of Grey' Stars Are Seeking Big Raises For Sequel

The cost of entry to the Red Room of Pain might get a LOT higher.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Fifty Shades of Grey" stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are asking for hefty raises to film the sequels. The publication's sources say the actors each received $250,000 for the first movie, and signed three-picture deals. But now that "Fifty Shades" is such a big box-office hit - generating $528 million worldwide - Dornan and Johnson want to renegotiate their salaries for "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."

It's not unusual for stars of blockbuster franchises to ask, and get, more money; that was the case for both "Twilight" and "Hunger Games."

And with both the first movie's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and writer, Kelly Marcel, not expected to return for the sequels, Universal will likely do what it takes to keep some of the magic-making team together.
