"DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge"
"Game of Thrones" may be done for the year, but there's no need to bid farewell to dragons! "How to Train Your Dragon" heroes Hiccup and Toothless are back in this new Netflix original series premiering June 26. Their mission: to explore strange new worlds, seek out never-before-seen dragons, and end the war between Vikings and dragons for good. Watch all 13 episodes starting this Friday.
"Beyond the Lights"
Noni (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) has been groomed for stardom all her life by her overbearing mother (Minnie Driver), and the pressures of fame push her close to the edge. A hot cop named Kaz (Nate Parer) helps her break free, but the people in their lives want them to put their career goals ahead of romance. Heck with those people! Available June 24.
"What Happened, Miss Simone?"
This 2015 documentary about the life of Nina Simone -- American singer, pianist, civil rights activist and fascinating diva legend known as "High Priestess of Soul" -- is available June 26.

"The Water Diviner"
This is Russell Crowe's directorial debut, and he also stars as an Australian farmer who heads to Turkey after the battle of Gallipoli to find his three missing sons. It's based on the historical fiction book of the same name, and co-stars Olga Kurylenko and Jai Courtney. Extras include "The Making of the Water Diviner."
"Timbuktu"
A cattle herder and his family face the wrath of Islamic fundamentalists after a tragic accident in this Oscar nominee for Best Foreign-Language Film. It has a 99 percent "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it definitely has the critics' seal of approval. Special features include an interview with director and co-writer Abderrahmane Sissako.
"The Fisher King"
I like New York in June, how about youuuuuuu? June is even better now that The Criterion Collection is re-releasing this 1991 Robin Williams/Jeff Bridges gem on Blu-Ray and DVD. On June 23, the director-approved edition will include tons of special features, including (but not limited to) audio commentary featuring director Terry Gilliam; new interviews with Gilliam, producer Lynda Obst, screenwriter Richard La Gravenese, and actors Jeff Bridges, Amanda Plummer, and Mercedes Ruehl; and interview from 2006 with actor Robin Williams; and deleted scenes, with audio commentary by Gilliam.
New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital Only
Never mind serenity -- excitement now! You may recall reading about Hulu's deal to acquire the SVOD (subscription video on demand) rights to the classic NBC comedy, and now all 180 "Seinfeld" episodes will be available on Hulu starting June 24.
"The Longest Ride"
Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson play star-crossed lovers -- he a former champion bull rider and she a college student about to enter NYC's art world -- in this Nicholas Sparks novel adaptation spanning generations. It's coming out on DVD and Blu-ray on July 14, but the Digital release is this Friday. Here's an exclusive clip with the cast talking about how love letters play a role in the movie:
"Home"
You can watch DreamWorks Animation's "Home" at home starting June 26 with the official Digital HD release. "Home" follows Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons), a lovable misfit from another planet, who meets a girl named Tip (Rihanna), and the unlikely friends embark on a grand journey home. The DVD and Blu-ray editions will be out July 28.
TV Worth Watching
"Under the Dome" (Thursday on CBS at 9 p.m.)
Season 3 of the show that is no longer following Stephen King's novel much at all launches with a two-hour premiere on June 25. More details here. A surprising alliance is coming!
"Big Brother" (Wednesday on CBS at 8 p.m.)
"Big Brother" is a ridiculous show, but dagnabbit it's summer and sometimes the ridiculous is welcome. BB17 has its two-night premiere June 24 and June 25, with plenty of new twists ahead (expect the unexpected!) and the reality show's first transgender houseguest.
"Nurse Jackie" (Sunday on Showtime at 9 p.m.)
Edie Falco's nurse-with-addiction-issues dramedy is ending on June 28. Here's the synopsis for Season 7, Episode 12, "I Say a Little Prayer": "Jackie gets offered a job - and wants Zoey to come with her." Will this series have a happy ending or maybe just ... end ... like that other Edie Falco show?
